Design and Consulting

In 1995, before I had Internet access, I purchased a computer magazine that came with a CD-ROM containing Web pages. I opened the pages in a text editor and discovered how easily they could be manipulated by simply changing a few words inside the file. I modified those pages, then made some of my own and started setting up a local "site." In 1996 and beyond, after I actually had Internet access, I started working on some small sites for friends and groups I was involved in. I have had a Web site in one form or another since then, and continue to learn all that I can about Web design.

I like to experiment with new designs and try to learn from every project I do. Every site I've worked with has been done by hand, with nothing more than a text editor and graphics software. I dislike generic templates, lookalike sites, and fill-in-the-blanks garbage because I consider my work to be a form of artistic expression. With the right amount of care, passion, and skill, Web sites can rise above being just another method of advertising.

Web design is my career, but I still remain passionate about every job I do. I am very selective when picking my Web projects and try to make each one beautiful, appealing, unique, and highly usable. My years of design experience and involvement with other aspects of information technology have shown me that usability matters more than appearance, so I design with both in mind.

If you have an Internet project that I might be interested in, please . I am always interested in new challenges and opportunities.
